02 Kurinuki midi candle
Description
A sculptural candle defined by material and form.
Originally made as a coffee cup, this stoneware vessel is now reimagined as a candle holder. The hand-carved surface draws inspiration from the Japanese kurinuki technique, where the form is shaped through carving rather than throwing. A deep black-brown glaze settles into the carved surface, revealing the raw texture and presence of the clay beneath.
Filled with pure beeswax by Björnlunda Arvet, hand-poured in small batches. Beeswax burns slowly and cleanly, producing a soft, warm light with a subtle natural scent.
Once burned, the vessel remains.
